Saudi King Salman Receives Lebanese Patriarch Rahi

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met Lebanese Patriarch Bechara Boutros al Rahi, Tuesday, reported Saudi Press Agency.

Young and old, desk clerks and activists, Yemenis from all walks of life took to the streets Monday to protest a Saudi-led blockade that has left thousands struggling to survive.

"There is no embargo", Ambassador Abdallah Al-Mouallimi said. United Nations aid chief Mark Lowcock last week warned that unless the blockade is lifted, Yemen will face "the largest starvation the world has seen for many decades, with millions of victims". For ports in rebel-held or disputed territories, such as the city of Hodeida, the mission said it has asked the U.N.to send a team of experts to discuss ways to make sure weapons can't be smuggled in. The humanitarian situation in the war-ravaged Yemen is now one of the deadliest in the world as starvation and lack of medical supplies leave millions at risk - the Saudi blockade of Yemen has added to the country's woes.

The Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen announced a suspension of border crossing via air, marine and land routes following a ballistic missile fired from Yemen targeting Saudi capital Riyadh on November 6.

Saleh al-Sammad, the head of the Presidency Council of Yemen's rebels, also known as Houthis, told a rally of thousands of supporters marching down a main boulevard in the capital, Sanaa, that the coalition has "shut down all doors for peace and dialogue".

On Tuesday, Yemen's airline said a commercial plane landed at Aden worldwide airport after acquiring permits from the Saudi-led coalition.

The blockade "is complicating what is already a catastrophic situation", McGoldrick said.

Saudi Arabia announced it shut down all ports after a November 4 ballistic missile attack on Riyadh near its worldwide airport by the Shiite rebels known as Houthis.

Iran denies arming the Houthis and blames the two-and-a-half-year conflict in Yemen on Riyadh.
