Despite mixed reviews, Taylor Swift's new album "Reputation" has set a record in the four days since its release.

This makes it the first album to sell a million copies in a week since Adele's 25 moved 1.16 million copies on the week ending December 25th, 2015.

Taylor Swift is also well-ahead of the game in the United Kingdom, where Reputation cruised to No. 1 on the midweek charts by outselling its closest rival, Sam Smith's "The Thrill Of It All", by a ratio of 2:1. Past records achieving the feat include "1989", "Red" and "Speak Now". In just four days since its release, the album has surged past the million sales milestone in the USA, where it's now the biggest-selling album of the year, according to data published overnight by Nielsen Music.
