Tennessee State Player Expelled From School After Punching Coach on Sideline

Latrelle Lee, a senior defensive end, twice punched TSU head strength coach T.J. Greenstone in the side of the head.

A football player with the Tennessee State University Tigers was removed from the team-and expelled from the university-after punching one of his coaches on the sideline during an offensive play.

Greenstone falls to the ground after being punched.

Per the Tennessean, Greenstone - a former defensive tackle at Vanderbilt - is charged with keeping players who aren't in the game from stepping on the field.

On the sideline, Greenstone's job is to keep "players who aren't in the game from getting too close to the sideline to avoid a penalty", according to the Tennesseean. There is as of now no explanation of what led to Lee swinging on Greenstone. It is still unclear what sparked Lee's rage, but head coach Rod Reed immediately dismissed him from the sidelines and then kicked him off the team after the game.

The 22-year-old from Dothan, Alabama, was expelled from the college on Monday, according to the Tennessean.

Lee, who is 6-foot-2, 240 pounds, started two games for the Tigers this season and registered 18 tackles, including three and a half tackles for loss.
