Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Lands On Wednesday

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is set to launch worldwide on November 22 for iOS and Android devices, Nintendo has announced.

After an agonizing month of waiting, it's finally time to load up our campers and pay a visit to the happy animal towns we've been quietly (or loudly) dreaming about for years. Thousands of Australians are assumed to have tried and tested the mobile game already.

If you're not familiar with Nintendo's long-running Animal Crossing franchise, it's basically a sim game where you control a human character living in a village inhabited exclusively anthropomorphic animals.

Pocket Camp will see you collecting fruit, catching bugs and crafting furniture to be either placed in your own abode or gifted to fellow site members as part of daily quests. If you have played Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo, you might reconnect with more than a few old friends!

Prepare yourself for more My Nintendo rewards coming from this game, too, as well as the scary world of microtransactions that will let you get resources faster. While Super Mario Run faced some criticism for squashing Nintendo's character into a relatively uninspiring running game, this smartphone take on Animal Crossing seems to have numerous same elements as its console precursors.
