Manchester United move is a 'possibility', admits Antoine Griezmann

Manchester United move is a 'possibility', admits Antoine Griezmann

The France star has been continually linked with a move away from Atletico, particularly after confirmation of Diego Costa's return to the club in January.

The France global also made it clear that he has no regrets about staying with Atletico after being heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer.

The news was further confirmed by Sky Sports' La Liga expert Guillem Balague who said that Atletico are preparing themselves for a massive transfer battle for Griezmann as he is already eyeing up Frenchman's replacement.

The 26-year-old France global managed to get on the scoresheet only two times in ten La Liga appearances this season, while he added just one in Atletico Madrid's disappointing start to the new Champions League campaign.

Had Diego Simeone left Atletico in 2016, then the French forward admits he may also have headed for the exits.

Griezmann, however, remains confident that the team's fortunes will improve in the New Year when summer signings Diego Costa and Vitolo become eligible to play.

And when the 26-year-old came off, the cacophony of whistles and boos that greeted his departure were telling. "I will score again soon".

Speculation linking Griezmann with a move away in 2018 has continued with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain all mentioned. These two reinforcements will do us good.

Griezmann, who is happy about his decision, has scored just 3 goals in 14 games in all competitions this season for Atletico. "Me leaving? I haven't spoken to the president about that".

"I'm happy with all my performances with the national team but with only two or three Atletico matches", Griezmann admitted.
