Lane Kiffin Has Priceless Response To Idea Of FAU Playing Alabama

When it comes to play calling, there aren't many in the country (if anyone) who are better than Florida Atlantic coach Lane Kiffin.

Kiffin led the Owls to a 41-17 rout of North Texas in the Conference USA Championship Game, and as victory was in sight, FAU fans came together for a "We want 'Bama!" chant.

The North Texas Mean Green are ranked 20 on offense, averaging 469.7 yards per game. The game marked the first-ever Conference USA title game appearance for both football programs and, thus, the Owls first-ever league title.

It's FAU's second Conference USA title - the first coming in 2007 while a member of the Sun Belt.

Mason Fine completed 28 of 44 passes for 367 yards for the Mean Green (9-4), whose five-game winning streak was snapped.

For a little more than a half, they were wrong.

The victory completes a flawless 9-0 run through Conference USA play for FAU.

With three rushing touchdowns on the day, including one late in the fourth quarter that officially snuffed out UNT's come-from-behind hopes, Devin Singletary now has 29 rushing touchdowns on the season.

The Owls (10-3) have won nine straight and await their bowl-game opponent.

The Owls didn't let up after halftime, scoring on a 54-yard Jason Driskel-to-Kalib Woods hookup.

FAU senior wide receiver Kamrin Solomon (15) attempts to make a catch while North Texas junior defensive back Kemon Hall (16) closes in on him to make the tackle.
