Lakers enforcing 'LaVar Ball Rule' hopefully means less from LaVar Ball

Now interviews in that area and the tunnel leading to the arena corridors are prohibited, and if a media member is recognized in that area they will be asked to leave said area. However, Staples Center has reinstated the rule that has restricted access, disallowing interviews and gathering in that designated area. Because there is more of a media presence than in previous seasons, the Lakers are now keeping the media away from the guests and family of players.

Now, however, it's forbidden for media to question guests of players, which many around the arena dubbed the "LaVar Ball rule", reported ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Usually the family members and associates wait for the players behind the basket closest to the visitor's locker room after the games.

It appears as though LaVar Ball's days of talking trash after Lakers' games are numbered. "It's a privacy concern". After taking on President Donald Trump, the Lakers coaching staff and one of Lonzo Ball's teammates, Ball is now beefing with former Lakers head coach and three-time National Basketball Association champion Byron Scott. The league's rule is that an individual must be credentialed in order to enter onto the court. In October, amid the rookie point guard's struggles, the elder Ball criticized the Lakers coaches for being too soft on him. "We're concerned with the team and what's best for our team, and how we can continue to get better". I tell him to go get the victory.

In a post-game interview Wednesday after the Lakers loss 127-123 to the Golden State Warriors, LaVar Ball lamented the team's execution and targeted forward Julius Randle for not passing the ball to his son. But the Lakers are making sure to get out ahead of the problem. He also said that Walton should have done the "Big Baller move" and not called a timeout. Maybe that's all they want - some space between the end of a game and a LaVar Ball rant, but Ball can easily make an impromptu press conference happen if he wants to.
