Liverpool Draw Everton In FA Cup Third Round

Everton fans took to Twitter in panic when they heard they had been drawn against Liverpool in the third round of the FA Cup. The Brighton vs Crystal Palace and Manchester City vs Burnley, are the other Premier League vs Premier League match ups.

The last time the two sides met in this competition was in 2012 and Liverpool were 2-1 winners on that occasion. Another derby sees Sunderland off to Middlesbrough.

But Rosler stressed a need to focus on the first hurdle - beating Hereford, one of four non-league teams left in the prestigious competition, next week at Edgar Street.

The hosts are surely going to field a strong line-up and as Mauricio Pellegrino's players are now lingering in the top-flight, the manager may take the risk of playing a weakened side in order for the Premier League to be the primary focus. The holders, Arsenal, will face what could be a testing encounter with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

They will go to Premier League AFC Bournemouth if they can win at the DW Stadium. "We've got three league games before that and they are our priority, but then we can relax and enjoy the replay". And with the two sides set to face off for the first time this season this weekend, it's likely the FA Cup tie will serve as a chance at revenge for one.

The FA Cup third round is scheduled to be played on Saturday 6 January 2018, although a number of games will be moved for television broadcasting.
