The Division's 1.8 Update Drops Tomorrow, Patch Notes Released

The biggest addition is the West Side Pier. This is created to get new players interested in the game and tempt those who have stopped playing it to come back. Varied enemy NPCs continuously spawn in waves as up to four agents try to survive for as long as they can. In Skirmish, two teams of four will fight to subdue each other in a trio of new arenas. Last Stand rank's (now called PvP rank) maximum has been increased from 40 to 99.

The trailer found further above definitely provides a solid surface level summary of what's in store for those who engage with The Division's Update 1.8, but there may be some who would enjoy a more comprehensive breakdown of its contents, particularly when it comes to the specifics of the new Rogue system in the Dark Zone, and the tweaks being implemented in Underground mode. Players need to toggle their Rogue status before being able to do damage to friendly agents, and any member of their team can choose to either go Rogue also or leave the group. The new rewards include Classified Caches. Enemies drop resources that can be used to either set up defenses or extend the battlefield, offering more tactical options to the players. Brand new PvP rank rewards have been added.

There's also the usual selection of bug fixes and minor adjustments, including one slightly alarming bug which would "cause wildlife to explode during the Strike global event". Ubisoft has added a lot of features with this update. If you happen to already own the base game, you can jump into the three expansions for free from December 5-10. Tom Clancy's The Division is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and Update 1.8 will be available in all versions tomorrow.

With update 1.8 arriving on December 5, a whole new area of the city will be opened up for exploration.
