Manchester United confident of completing £50m deal for Tottenham's Danny Rose

Jose Mourinho has now set his eyes on Danny Rose thoughtfully, as he believes the English worldwide will become Manchester United's next first-choice left back in a £50 million deal, reports Daily Mail.

Manchester United were keen on signing the player previous year, though the sale of Kyle Walker to Manchester City, a deal did not really happen between the two clubs.

Jose Mourinho will prioritise full-backs for Manchester United in the January transfer window, and is considering acting on the club's long-standing interest in Danny Rose of Tottenham Hotspur.

According to the Daily Mail, a fee of £50m should be enough to get the deal finalized with the north London giants, who are now themselves looking to cash in on their defensive star.

Besides, the Old Trafford outfit recognizes that agreeing on a deal with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will be a laborious duty, as he proves to be a very tough negotiator. The only time Rose has played this season has been in the Carabao Cup as a substitute, in victories over Burton Albion and Swansea City, which has been really frustrating for the player.

Rose was also left "fuming" after he was left out of Tottenham's starting lineup for the 2-0 derby defeat to Arsenal in November and, despite Mauricio Pochettino insisting that there were no issues between the pair, Rose's future at White Hart Lane has still been scrutinised heavily. The north London club have hit a rough patch of form, losing against Leicester City in mid-week and following that up with a draw against Watford, which has all but ended their title hopes.

The possibility of a part-swap for Pochettino's former Southampton player Luke Shaw has been mooted, but Spurs are not interested in that.
