Sergio Ramos: 'I have a great friendship with Cristiano Ronaldo'

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos says he and Cristiano Ronaldo can have different opinions but they remain great friends who are "rowing in the same direction".

Ramos and Ronaldo have since reportedly had a difference of opinion over the way the Spanish giants are heading, although the skipper has been quick to brush aside such talk.

Ronaldo has lived up to his high standards in the Champions League in which he is the top scorer with eight goals from five games and on course become the top marskman in Europe's elite competition for a sixth straight year.

"He will keep trying until the goals come. Right now the ball doesn't want to go in for him, but there's a long way to go and he's going to start scoring again". "Be careful with Cristiano".

After dominating domestic and European football last season, Real Madrid are struggling so far this term.

Until September, Zidane's men had scored in 73 straight games.

Zidane, though, rejected widespread suggestions, most recently from Valencia coach Marcelino Garcia Toral, that Madrid's squad is poorer this season for the loss of Alvaro Morata, James Rodriguez and Pepe in the off-season.

But the Real boss has admitted his side need more goals if they are to overhaul Barcelona in the La Liga title race. I'd urge everyone not to forget what this team has achieved.

They will also finish as runners-up to Tottenham in their ChampionsLeague group, although they are assured of a place in the last 16.

With Gareth Bale again sidelined with muscle problems, Zidane could not say whether the Wales global would be back for Saturday's home game against Sevilla but added that he would be in the squad for the forthcoming Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi.
