Detective Pikachu Will Be Played by Ryan Reynolds

Detective Pikachu is a live-action movie where Pikachu helps a team find somebody who has been kidnapped. Reynolds is used to being a hero. The Van Wilder star will join Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's Justice Smith and Big Little Lies' Kathryn Newton in front of the camera. Reynolds' performance will be done through motion capture, though the idea of him in a giant Pikachu costume is kind of growing on us.

Considering how Pokémon has sold hundreds of millions of games and billions of trading cards, fans are simultaneously delighted and blown away by the casting choice.

It's said that the moving will start shooting mid January and be directed by Rob Letterman who is known for his work in Goosebumps.

Ryan Reynolds is joining Detective Pikachu and will voice the famous Pokémon.




Pikachu is a species of Pokemon, while Detective Pikachu the character is a peculiar sort from the Pikachu set, a self-styled investigator who is good at finding things.
