Florida State president takes shot at A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher

Willie Taggart has a new profile picture and an updated Twitter bio that will probably make OR athletic director Rob Mullens and a lot of Duck fans cringe.

The Dream is free, but the Hustle is sold separately.

Following Fisher's abrupt departure, it took less than a week for Florida State to find its man. Florida State athletic director Stan Wilcox said Wednesday that he knew right away that Taggart was the one they wanted for the job. I don't want to leave, Dad, but if you are going to chase your dream, I am going to ride with you'.

"He lied straight to my dads face in my living room Thursday night", OR sophomore linebacker Troy Dye tweeted on Wednesday. Taggart talked extensively about being closer to home, and he mentioned his late father, saying, "I feel like I'm here now because of my dad, he put the word in to the good Lord, please get my son be closer to home and closer to his mom". "Lost all my respect".

That was five days before Taggart agreed to terms to be Florida State's new coach. Taggart met with FSU officials on Monday in Arizona before news broke of his decision on Tuesday.

Taggart started at Oregon about one year ago and according to The Oregonian, is the first Ducks football coach more than 70 years to last just one season. "We watched the 'Noles first, then everyone else". We knew he grew up a Florida State fan and that he came from a family of Seminoles. "I'm sorry that I did let him down, and like I told everyone there, I'm sorry, I apologize".

"I apologized (to everyone at Oregon) before I left". Co-offensive coordinator Mario Cristobal will lead OR in the bowl game against Boise State.

Interim coach Mario Cristobal and defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt are expected to be in-house candidates to replace Taggart. Florida State is a dream job for any coach, especially one who hails from the Florida area.

He was also the head coach at Florida International for six seasons, posting a 27-47 record before getting fired. He sued USF and received a $2.75 million settlement.

The Florida native is returning to the Sunshine State to coach Florida State.

But other members of the talented group vowed to stay together and join the Ducks if some of the coaches who recruited them stay on at Oregon. Justin Johnson, a 6-foot-7, 355-pound offensive lineman from Philadelphia tweeted.

Just 12 days until the Las Vegas Bowl and OR head coach Willie Taggart is leaving the Pacific Northwest for the Atlantic Coast.

He said Wednesday that when he got the call about Florida State's interest, it was a "dream come true" for him. "I knew we had found our guy". All of the assistants will coach through the bowl game.
