Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered Announced for PS4 and Xbox One

Assassins Creed Rogue Remastered is set to be released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on March 20. It'll run at 1080p by default, or in 4K with said enhancement-capable machines.

Moreover, Ubisoft is bringing over Bayek's outfit from Assassin's Creed Origins to the remaster as an extra perk. The game originally came out at the tail end of the seventh gen for the Xbox 360 and PS3, so for a lot of gamers who missed out on it before back in 2014, Ubisoft is remastering it for the eighth gen twins.

Back in November, a few online retailers leaked listings for an Assassin's Creed Rogue remaster.

There are two key factors that made Assassin's Creed: Rogue stand out.

18th century, North America.

Assassin's Creed: Rogue tells the story of the Irishman Shay Patrick Cormac during the French and Indian War, who turns against the Assassin's Brotherhood after a mission goes horribly wrong. After a risky mission gone tragically wrong, Shay turns his back on the Assassins who, in response, attempt to end his life. Cast aside by those he once called brothers, Shay sets out on a mission to wipe out all who turned against him and to ultimately become the most feared Assassin hunter in history.

The first DLC for Assassin's Creed Origins (our vote for best open world game of 2017) is due out this month. The game's American frontier setting will no doubt remind many fans of Assassin's Creed III - another game that's potential was compromised by technical issues - but Rogue actually has more in common with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The company released a small teaser trailer showing off the new level of visual fidelity they hope to achieve with the Remaster, which you can check out below.
