BSNL jumps into data and validity revision game, update its prepaid plans

The Airtel Rs. 399 prepaid pack previously offered 1GB 3G/ 4G data per day (alongside all the other benefits) for a validity of 28 days.

"Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced BSNL "Happy Offer" for prepaid mobile customers - 43 per cent extra validity and 50 per cent additional data with unlimited local, STD and roaming calls for prepaid mobile customers", the company said in a statement. Before the revision, Vodafone customers doing recharge of ₹458 or ₹509 were offered free local and STD voice calls, free outgoing on roaming, 100 local and national SMS per day, and, 1 GB 3G/4G data per day. The pack that earlier offer 150MB 4G data and now the pack offers 1GB daily data.




All the plans will offer 100 SMSes per day. Jio subscribers are also provided with the upgraded Rs. 349 pack that offers similar benefits for 70 days. However, Jio's Rs. 199 pack provides 1.2GB 4G data per day while the Airtel's pack gives only 1GB data per day. Apart from this, customers also get access to the Vodafone Play app. The former comes with a validity of 54 days, while the latter comes with 81 days of validity.

In comparison to Airtel, Reliance Jio with its Rs. 398 pack offers 1.5GB high-speed 4G data per day (after 1.5GB Jio offers unlimited data at 64Kbps). The 509 plan of Jio offers 3GB data per day. In all other circles, buyers will get 84-day and 91-day validity with the Rs. 458 and Rs. 509 prepaid packs. This pack also features unlimited calls and 100 SMS daily. Airtel also offers a Rs. 509 plan that was recently revised to offer 91 days validity with the same benefits. And as far as pricing is concerned, Jio offers the plan at the cheapest price against its two older rivals of Airtel and Voadone. Reliance Jio 799 plan offers 140GB data for a period of 28 days.
