Leonardo Jardim Talks Potential Thomas Lemar Exit Amid Arsenal, Liverpool Links

Both Liverpool and Arsenal are in need of creative reinforcements with Philippe Coutinho having signed as a Barcelona player and Alexis Sanchez on the precipice of joining Manchester City.

Speaking to the media this week, Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim refused to rule out a sale this transfer window.

We'll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but it will be interesting to see how Liverpool would respond if Arsenal were to table a formal offer for Lemar this month.

The Daily Mirror is claiming that the Premier League outfits would have to pay as much as the £90m Arsenal bid for Lemar on transfer deadline day back in August to successfully prise Lemar away from the French side.

That kind of money seems like a great deal for a player of Lemar's potential in today's market, however, the newspaper suggests that even at £61m Klopp won't be rushed in to a deal this month as he'd rather wait until the summer to assess his options. The paper says the Atletico Madrid striker has been lined up in an £89million deal to join the Red Devils next summer, but that the club have been told their initial offer of £290,000 a week is short of what the 26-year-old wants. "This is life. For sure he was our target but as you know this is football". Things are as they are. The paper says the defender, who has been highly-rated at Stamford Bridge, has caught the eye of several Championship clubs, but has been convinced to make the move to Sunderland for a relegation scrap. If I stay here for 10 years I want Lemar to stay with me for 10 years.

Arsenal are said to be still monitoring the situation amid reports claiming that both City and Manchester United are trying to convince the Gunners to part ways with the Chile worldwide this month. However, the 22-year old has struggled to reproduce that form once again this term.
