Mike Tyson the marijuana mogul? He's high on Mojave resort

According to Deadline, the former heavyweight champion just broke ground on a large pot farm in California's Mojave Desert.

The 51-year-old Hall of Famer has already broken ground on 40 acres in California City, a remote town of 15,000 people southwest of Death Valley.

The farm will not only produce super dank weed, giving space to master growers to do their thing, but there will also be a Tyson Cultivation School to pass knowledge on to farmers, as well as Tyson Holistic, which will help provide treatment to USA military veterans suffering from psychological ailments. At least half of the land will be developed into cultivation facilities, leaving another 20 acres for proposed extract and edible production facilities, an amphitheatre, and "glamping campgrounds and cabins".

Medical marijuana has been legalised in the state of California for the past 20 years and Tyson's ranch will look to carry out research to help develop it's clinical benefits. The ranch is operated by another Tyson business called Tyson Holistic and will offer jobs and opportunities to military veterans.

Tyson's name, of course, will brand the resort nestled in Southern California: it will be known as "Tyson Ranch".

Tyson recently trademarked the name "Iron Mike Genetics" for use at the cannabis resort.

Tyson has a long public history with marijuana.

Mike Tyson has his sights set on conquering the legal marijuana market. In 2000, the former heavyweight champion was fined for testing positive for marijuana, and his technical knockout and win over Andrew Golota was changed to "no contest" after the test. Tyson has also been a long-time advocate for medicinal marijuana, as a number of National Basketball Association and NFL players have over the years.
