Puel: Ihenacho needs to improve his game

Nigeria Forward Kelechi Iheneacho is set to be off loaded by his Leicester City side having been a flop since his £25million move from Manchester City in August 2017.

Sources claim that the German coach is not happy that the players have been warming the bench at the Premier League club.

These concerns were expressed in a meeting arranged by Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha after the game.

He has made just nine Premier League games this season and has started just two of them.

This wouldn't be too much of a surprise as even Puel has admitted the £16m signing leaving is a "possibility" during the transfer window. "We will see with the player and the opportunity for the club also", Puel told Sky Sports when asked about the player.

Although he has scored in the League Cup, Shinji Okazaki's good form and the arrival of Andre Silva has further kept the Nigerian away from the first team.

Leicester City manager Claude Puel has challenged Kelechi Iheanacho to "improve aspects of his play".

Despite overcoming a toe injury at the start of the season, the Nigerian worldwide has failed to make an impact at the club - having to settle for a place on the bench as the likes of Jamie Vardy, Islam Slimani and Shinji Okazaki are higher up manager Claude Puel's pecking order.

With the World Cup in Russian Federation now coming into view, both will hope to be part of Rohr's plans for the tournament but the Super Eagles coach has urged them to seek moves away this month so they are playing regularly.
