Samsung Galaxy S9 Confirmed To Debut At MWC 2018: What To Expect

The confirmation of Galaxy S9 launch at MWC comes from Samsung's Mobile division head DJ Koh, who gave a statement to ZDNET. Here's what to expect.

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S9 will come out next month.

Samsung previously took advantage of MWC to unveil its latest flagships, albeit past year, it announced the Galaxy S8 at a separate Unpacked event in March, with sales beginning in April.

Historically, Samsung has unveiled most of its flagship phones at the Mobile World Congress, with the exception of Galaxy S8, which was launched at its own "Galaxy Unpacked" event. Here are the full details of Galaxy A8+(2018) smartphone, Price in India and Specifications. The additional features like Samsung Pay that the company provides makes the device even better to use.

The newest addition to Samsung's Galaxy range of phones is not expected to be radically different from its predecessor, at least in terms of appearance.

The official also said that the company was planning to launch its foldable phone sometime next year. Koh said that the biggest challenge in commercialization was the UX, but Samsung is working on it. Galaxy A8+ comes with the Always On Display, allowing users to get information at a glance without unlocking their phone.

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are expected to sport 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch OLED display respectively. With Galaxy A8+, we are bringing our customers' favorite features from our flagship smartphones, such as the Infinity Display and our first dual front camera with Live Focus, to our Galaxy A series.

It was apparent for a while now that Samsung will not launch its Galaxy S9 at this year's CES, meaning the next probable date is near the beginning of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which kicks off on Feb 26.And now we know that this is indeed the case. We'll stay on top of any new developments, so, stay tuned for more information as soon as it becomes available.
