Despite numerous reports on Friday that she had died under mysterious circumstances, former Big Brother contestant Rebekah Shelton is actually alive and well.

It continued: "We ask that you respect the family's privacy at this time".

"No way I remember when she was on Big Brother before her transition and I and she was one of my favourite ever people to have ever entered the big brother house and I've watch her transformation during the years it's so sad rest in peace", posted one shocked fan.

She originally appeared on Big Brother pre-transition as Rodrigo Lopes.

She concluded the video saying: 'I'm not dead'. She later said she had made a full recovery. And she achieved so much through her transition", while a third wrote, "Oh no.

She has also deleted the false tweet.

Of being abandoned after undergoing surgery, she said: "I wanted to kill myself, it was a nightmare".

Rebekah underwent gender reassignment surgery in 2014.

But previous year, the reality star admitted she was struggling to cope with the huge transition because she felt isolated.

'At one point before my surgery I had to leave home, and for six months of my life I turned to prostitution.

She appeared on ITV show Judge Rinder in 2016 to confront a woman she was accusing of obsessive stalking, and spoke about her long and painful journey to self-acceptance.

"I saw that terrible thing between my legs and I started crying around the hospital saying, 'I regret, I regret.' I wanted to kill myself because it was a nightmare".

The reality TV star began to live as a woman in 2012, after successfully transitioning.
