Kashmir edu system sows anti-India seed: Bipin Rawat

Expressing concern over the kind of education being imparted in the government schools of Jammu and Kashmir, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Friday said there was an urgent need to revamp the education system, as the students have been given "misleading" tuition. These temporary structures are there, (and) there is a possibility of Chinese movement after the winter.

He highlighted that post the Doklam incident, the Army has increased patrolling activities in the northern border. "We will not allow our territory to be intruded". Gen Rawat said, "We understand China is a powerful country but we are not a weak nation". Why are they taking risks? "The time has come for India to shift focus to its northern border", he said while adding that "the country was capable of handling China's assertiveness along it". The development of infrastructure needs to be stepped up, and requirement of systems met. He said the government had told the army to conduct operation "in the manner they deem fit".

Rawat, who was talking to reporters, said that minor construction continues to take place in Doklam but previous year the face-off happened because it saw personnel from the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) moving in large amount of equipment.

The army chief said India can not allow its neighbours to drift away to China.

Rawat also averred that the government too is dealing with the situation on the diplomatic front.

"Militants are a disposable commodity in Pakistan and the Indian Army approach has been to ensure that it feels the pain", he said. It shows that we are better prepared: "Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on stylised bulletproof helmets", Rawat said at a press conference here. "Troops are earmarked, should a situation arise our troops are ready to cater", said the Army chief.

Trump, in a tweet on January 1, attacked Pakistan saying that the United States has foolishly given them more than $33 billion in aid over the last 15 years, and got lies and deceit in return.

"The casualties which Pakistan has suffered are three to four times more than we did".
