Khabib Nurmagomedov's Manager Is Refusing To Settle For An Interim Title Fight

Khabib Nurmagomedov's Manager Is Refusing To Settle For An Interim Title Fight

First reported by Denis Geyko of RT Sport, the UFC has booked their the first ever fight card in Russian Federation at Moscow's Olympiyskiy Stadium.

The possibility of a Moscow show was also earlier fueled by current lightweight champion Conor McGregor, who reportedly asked UFC chief White to organize a bout with the undefeated Nurmagomedov in Russian Federation last summer.

It remains to be seen if the UFC brass would really go through with that given that McGregor is by far and away their biggest, most powerful star, but one person who believes they will is color commentator Joe Rogan.

Nurmagomedov is coming off a dominating unanimous decision victory over Edson Barboza.

The trio of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Tony Ferguson, and the champ Conor McGregor have been embroiled in a battle for control of the division - despite the fact that none of them have ever faced each other yet.

Although it's not clear if Nurmagomedov will take part in the planned Moscow event, the 29-year-old Dagestan native hinted at "big news" to come on his Instagram page two days ago.

"If he waits - I don't think Conor wants to fight until August, but if he waits until August or September, that's around two years since the belt has been defended, and that can't happen".

"If Conor and Ferguson fight among themselves, give us Alvarez". Fans love Zabit Magomedsharipov now. Plus it's very interesting for [Russian] fans.
