Wenger: Ozil could still stay, but Sanchez will go

Jack Wilshere could play against his former club as Arsenal travel to Bournemouth on Super Sunday.

The news is a boost for Wenger, whose side are sixth in the Premier League table and looking to push for the top four following last week's FA Cup exit to Nottingham Forest. He missed the game at West Bromwich Albion on 31 December, returned to face Chelsea on 3 January, but has been out since then.

Jermain Defoe and Tyrone Mings remain sidelined with long-term injury issues.

Changes in the club's support staff, and persistent speculation Carlo Ancelotti is being lined-up behind the scenes to take over, have failed to unsettle Wenger.

Wenger said that "all the other players will still be out for Bournemouth", which means that Olivier Giroud is still "two weeks away", Laurent Koscielny will be back "next week", as will Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac, although the Bosnian left-back has "a little, little chance" to feature this weekend.

It is to be seen where Sanchez ends up joining but it is for certain that the Chilean will not be an Arsenal player at the start of next season. So he wants to fight as well for the Premier League, that's normal when you are at that level.

Arsenal have conceded four penalty goals in their last three games in all competitions.

According to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, there is still a chance that German playmaker Mesut Ozil will sign a new deal with the club, although he is resigned to losing Alexis Sanchez. I saw him walking normally, and his scan was good.

As for Arsenal, the transfer window has been a busy time for them of late, with the departures of Francis Coquelin and Tafari Moore, along with the arrival of Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.
