Patriots get WR Hogan back vs. Titans

Rex Burkhead appeared to be trending toward a return from a knee injury he suffered against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The following Patriots players are inactive for Saturday's AFC divisional round game against the Titans: running back Mike Gillislee, offensive tackle Cole Croston, defensive tackle Alan Branch, wide receiver Kenny Britt, running back Rex Burkhead, cornerback Johnson Bademosi and linebacker David Harris.

Burkhead was expected to sit and, in confirming that expectation, he'll be out for a third straight game dating back to Week 16. A final decision on Burkhead's status will likely be revealed when the Patriots release their inactives prior to the game.

The absence of Burkhead and Gillislee leaves the Patriots with just White, Dion Lewis and Brandon Bolden in the backfield.

Murray started all 15 games in which he played this season and rushed for 659 yards and a 3.6-yard average per attempt. Although both backs practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, they are listed as questionable on the injury report.

The 27-year-old carried the ball 64 times for 264 yards and five touchdowns this season. Branch played in 12 games this season, including six starts, after being a regular starter the previous two seasons. The Titans possess a stout run defense but struggle more than any other team at covering running backs in the passing game.
