The Newest: White Home says Trump gained't apologize

The blatantly racist comments made by President Trump during a private meeting with lawmakers on Thursday, January 11 - confirmed on Friday, Jan 12 by Democratic Senator Richard Durbin of IL - were all too believable.

Democrats accused Republicans of selective amnesia, as Kirstjen Nielsen testified under oath that she "did not hear" Trump use a certain vulgarity to describe African countries. "I'll just say, what Senator Durbin has portrayed is a misportrayal", the Arkansas senator told Little Rock radio station KARN on Tuesday. "The difference is, I'm right". The White House did not initially deny that Trump had made the remark, but in subsequent days conflicting accounts emerged from participants in the meeting, and Trump tweeted that he had not used that word, but did use "tough" language. Cotton dodged questions about whether the president expressed a preference for immigrants of some nations over others.

"The commander in chief in an Oval Office meeting referring to people from African countries and Haitians with the most vile and vulgar language, that language festers".

Earlier this week, White House physician Dr Ronny Jackson confirmed that Trump is in excellent health but needed to lose weight, eat a better diet, and partake in more regular exercise. Durbin speak up in the meeting? "Why did he wait to hold some random, impromptu press conference in Chicago?"

"In - I don't - I don't specifically remember a category - categorization of countries in Africa", she said, explaining that "there were a lot of cross conversations".

Durbin said the soon-to-be-introduced immigration plan includes some "painful concessions" on some issues to Mr. Trump's stance.

"My memory hasn't evolved", Graham said Monday, in what seemed like a dig at his GOP colleagues.

I think this comment here may have put Eric Trump back in the lead just a little bit, because not only does it show that yes, his father certainly, obviously believes in economic racism, but also that his father doesn't give a damn about the American public.

It's not just Graham who knows that trying to change Trump by placating him is a fool's errand.

He went around the room like a game-show host in a lightening round, answering queries from reporters, cutting them off when he sensed a hard question coming, admonishing others for not doing their jobs and even complaining at one point that no one was calling him to confirm stories.

Nope, Sen. Durbin had no loyalty to the US when he claimed that Trump said those things - things yet to be confirmed, were said in a private session and not in a public forum or speech. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) told HuffPost. I've seen people ... then they get their new knees when they're 55 years old and they get their new hips and they do all those things. "He cares about the economy", he said.

"My primary objective is to make sure we're not focusing on bad blood but focusing on the necessary policy decisions that we have to make", Scott said.

When asked if the group had made any sort of breakthrough, Durbin said, "Not really".
