Google Photos Lets Users Create Their Own Themed Videos

Google Photos Lets Users Create Their Own Themed Videos

The feature is similar to already existing custom videos and collage features available on Google Photos. It can also put together a short video based on the photos/videos that you've taken.

The Valentine's Day Movie theme will create a themed movie from the user's photos, one featuring their significant other; it'll be like the video shown below. "A themed movie brings together photos about a loved one or an important event, and expertly edits them together and sets them to music", Google product manager Julia Winn wrote in a blog post. Users can choose from a range of themes, including "They Grow Up So Fast" and "Meow Movie".

Making a video is supposedly simple and straightforward, where users just need to launch the Google Photos app, go to the Assistant tab, tap "Movie" to get started, pick a theme and the photos you want in the video, and you're good to go.

In the past, Google Photos would automatically create the movies based on stored images that are linked into special occasions, however users can now custom-make their movies.

Those living in United States or Canada are more fortunate as they are able to make a photo-book on the app and order one for their loved ones in time for Valentine's Day on February 14. The update is available today in most countries for both Android and iOS, as well as on the web.

Google has upgraded its Photos app in time for Valentine's Day.

You can also visit this link on the desktop. While you may not have a ton of input for the initial movie creation, if you are not perfectly satisfied with the result, you can always edit it in the app. That's where shared libraries from Google Photos come in.
