Radhika Apte shares a personal story ahead of PadMan's release

Pad Man, starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte, will not see the light of day in Pakistan.

A young and an upcoming writer Ripu Daman Jaiswal accused "PadMan" makers of lifting scenes for the film from the script that he had written. Even if we want to give a message through the film, we have to make it entertaining, because if it will not interest people, they are not going to watch it, " she said.

The members of Punjab Film Censor Board refused to watch the film and rejected clearance to it.

A source confirmed, "The movie was initially bought by Amjad Rashid of IMGC but after he was shown the trailer, he was advised not to import the film".

According to details, former actor, now turned producer Twinkle Khanna's film Padman will not release in Pakistan. Some films do drive a huge number of audience to the theatres on the first day, mainly depending on the number of promotions done, but fails to become hits.

Padman was released in 2750 screens in India and 600 screens overseas whereas his previous film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was released in 3000 screens in India and 590 screens in overseas. Akshay is incredibly consistent with his films reach and many of his films in last 5 years have done the business of 120-130 crores though it might not be the case for Padman. However, another distribution company bought the distribution rights on a condition that they will only process payment if it's been approved by the censor board. After being rejected from screening the Padman movie posters have been removed from the cinemas. Padmaavat has been in the eye of storm ever since its shooting days, with its sets being vandalised and death threats being issued to Padukone and Bhansali. A section of the media have said that it has been banned in Pakistan due to its sensitive subject.

Pakistan's Federal Censor Board refused to clear the Bollywood movie for its release in the country.
