Official Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ cases leaked ahead of launch

This development comes after a new set of press renders were leaked, which were actually meant to display the new DeX Pad that might be launched for the Galaxy S9 series.

In exclusive research for Express.co.uk, musicMagpie has revealed that prices for the Galaxy S8 could fall by as much as 25 per cent once the S9 is revealed on February 25. Like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8, the handset is expected to be available in the Microsoft Store with Microsoft's collection of apps pre-loaded.

However, we also expect the company to release updates for its older flagships as well like the Galaxy S6 and the other flagship smartphones released by Samsung in 2015.

In terms of connectivity, the leaked images show a HDMI-out port (for outputting to a nearby monitor), two USB Type A ports, and a USB Type C port (presumably for power).

It's very rare that Android phones receive more than two years of major software updates. A Silicone Cover, meanwhile, promises a "silky and soft-touch finish" instead, while an Alcantara Cover claims to be even more "luxurious" still. Samsung Galaxy S9 series will stick to the same design, with big changes on the processor and camera fronts.

For example, there's a "sporty and light" Hyperknit Cover, which has a hashed texture that should be extra-grippy. While one of the images showed the accessory, the second image showed the Galaxy S9 mounted on it. The Galaxy S9 will be priced at Rs. 69000 in India.

Similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S9 will have a single 12MP SuperSpeed Dual Pixel camera.
