Indiana's January jobless rate edges down to 3.3 percent

The department says the January rate also remained well below the US rate, which was unchanged at 4.1 percent.

That unemployment rate was unchanged from December.

"I am proud to announce that Florida businesses kicked off 2018 by creating more than 10,000 new jobs for families across the state in January". The jobless rate had reached 3.6 percent in November.

The state reported that the number of people working in SC in January was again above 2.2 million.

Iowa Workforce Development said in a news release Monday that the December rate of 2.9 percent was revised upward from the preliminary rate of 2.8 percent reported January 23.

In Broward, the jobless rate was 3.8 percent compared with 4.5 percent in January 2017. During all of 2017, weekly earnings averaged a 3.6 percent increase over the prior year, compared to a 1.9 percent increase in 2016. Comparatively, the national unemployment rate declined to 4.1 percent from 4.8 percent.




The state gained 150,900 jobs over the year, an increase of 1.8 percent.

Unemployment rates grew in January in each of the state's six metropolitan areas.

The Manhattan metropolitan area, at 2.9 percent continued to have the lowest unemployment rate in Kansas.

In February, the USA economy added 313,000 new payroll jobs, the biggest single monthly increase since July 2016.

Wisconsin added 8,000 private sector jobs in January and the state's unemployment rate dropped slightly to a seasonally adjusted 3.1 percent, according to new data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
