Mike Pence Says He Forgave Joy Behar for Religious

Tuesday at the opening of "The View" Behar apologized for her comments mocking the idea that the vice president heard the voice of Jesus during the February 13 episode.

"So I think Vice-President Pence is right".

Her apology on "The View" Tuesday came after Vice President Mike Pence said that Behar had called him to personally apologize, and he urged her to do it publicly as well.

"I just think it demonstrates how out-of-touch some in the mainstream media are with the faith and values of the American people", he said.

"You know, I give Joy Behar a lot of credit", Pence told Fox News' Sean Hannity on Monday.

The controversy stemmed from a comment Behar made on "The View" last month during a discussion of former White House aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman, who criticized Pence as "scary" and "extreme".

"What do you say to the tens of millions of Christians, and President Trump supporters, that your networks have so blatantly offended and ascribed hateful labels?" shareholder Justin Danhof asked Iger.

"It's one thing to talk to Jesus. That's called mental illness, if I'm not correct, hearing voices".

After receiving backlash from conservative viewers however, Behar privately called Pence to apologize for her remarks.

The Disney CEO also told the shareholders that he was happy to learn that Behar finally apologized because he said that he "takes exception" to her statement.

"I said to Joy, of course I forgive you, it's part of my faith experience", he continued. While claiming he accepted her apology, he then passive aggressively suggested she needed to make it public. He added, "It's just simply wrong for ABC to have a television program that expresses that kind of religious intolerance".

The right-wing Media Research Center launched an effort to hold "The View" accountable for promoting "anti-Christian bigotry", according to an open letter to ABC News from the group's president, Brent Bozell.

Tuesday, Behar caved and apologized live on air.
