Robinson reportedly set to join Bears

Chicago Bears look to have won the race for Allen Robinson - one of the premier receivers available in Free Agency.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson (15) runs after a catch during the National Football League game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts on January 1, 2017, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN. The veteran missed all of 2017 with a torn ACL. While his catches didn't drop much the next year (73), the receivers yardage dropped to 883 and his touchdowns to six.

This has been one of the more memorable lead-up weeks to free agency in recent memory. Injuries have dogged the Bears at the position with Kevin White going out for the season a year ago in Week 1 and Cameron Meredith missing the entire season with a torn ACL. As of now, Robinson should be viewed as a high-end WR2 in fantasy, barring any other changes to the Bears roster. But remember, Robinson is coming off a season-ending injury.

Kendall Wright led the team's receiving game last season, with just 614 yards on 59 catches, and no other player could beat Tarik Cohen's 353 receiving yards. They reportedly were targeting Sammy Watkins, too, but the former No. 4 overall pick is heading to Matt Nagy's former team, the Chiefs, according to ESPN and NFL Network, with a contract that is worth more per year than Robinson's. All but one of those catches and 17 or those yards came from 2014-2016 since Robinson lost 15 games after tearing his ACL after making his first reception of the year against the Texans in Houston. To know that he did that without anything close to a top-tier wide receiver is impressive, though it's still a relatively small sample size.

Had the Bears tendered any of the three at the next-highest level, $2.914 million, they would receive a second-round pick as compensation if they left.

Bottom line, you don't bring in a player like Robinson to be a decoy.
