Cardinals' OG target Andrew Norwell to sign with Jaguars

Carolina Panthers offensive guard Andrew Norwell (68) smiles before the game against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.

Former Carolina Panthers offensive guard Andrew Norwell is expected to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to multiple reports.

Norwell and the Jaguars have agreed to a five-year, $66.5 million, with $30 million fully guaranteed deal.

The Colts were thought to have a chance to land the top free agent on the market but he passed on them to sign with the division rival Jacksonville Jaguars, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Norwell's new contract will pay out at an average of $13.3 million per season, slightly edging out Los Angeles Chargers left tackle Russell Okung-whose current agreement brings in a $13.25 million salary-for the highest annual income of any offensive lineman.

Norwell, 26, entered the National Football League as an undrafted free agent and claimed the starting left guard spot in 2014. The fourth overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, Fournette paid immediate dividends in his rookie season by carrying the ball 268 times for 1,040 yards with nine rushing touchdowns.

While such an injury occurred as a result of his only catch of the season, the 24-year-old tallied just the lone reception, which went for 17 yards.
