Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald release date & trailer

"Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" will be released on November 16, 2018. No seriously, what has taken you so long?! Go!

"Have decided that Crimes of Grindelwald must take place before the rules were changed because that would be a ridiculous oversight!" It's the first time we're returning to the school since 2011's Deathly Hallows, and we're there for a reason - to meet Jude Law's young Professor Albus Dumbledore for the first time (in the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom, no less).

Decades ago when Harry Potter first began his journey with the grey-haired, moon-spectacled Hogwarts Headmaster, who could have guessed that a reimagination as such would be on the cards. The trailer majorly revolves around a young Dumbledore with ample footage of Jude Law essaying the character. The trailer for the sequel has arrived and it will excite all Harry Potter fans because it shows off Hogwarts.

However, the sequel - which is set years before The Boy Who Lives is even born - follows the Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald - played by a grizzled Johnny Depp - escaping from the Magical Congress of the United States of America.

In this new opus, Dumbledore and Newt will both team up to stop the famous sorcerer Gellert Grindelwald, who wishes to gather an army of sorcerers of the "pure blood". Unlike Voldermort's followers, many of Grindelwald's aren't aware that his true agenda is to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over the non-magical beings (Muggles, No-Majs). The second installment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise will start from where the first one left off.

Redmayne is joined by returning cast members Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Suodl, and Zoe Kravitz. Jacob is back (and appears to have his memories back?), Newt's brother Theseus is set to make an appearance and we're going on a trip to Paris. "I can't move against Grindelwald", Dumbledore tells Newt, "It has to be you".

Basically, there's still a LOT more we need to know about our beloved Hogwarts.
