West Indies to play T20 series in Pakistan

West Indies to play T20 series in Pakistan

Morgan, Roy and Hales have already publicly made it clear they will not be available for the play-off matches in Lahore or the final in Karachi on March 25 if their franchises qualify.

As Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Najam Sethi had promised that Cricket will be back in Pakistan, and yes he did it! While addressing to Media he further said he was working day and night for this agreement and have just confirmed to play these three matches.

The south Asian country has remained largely starved of worldwide cricket since the 2009 attacks on a bus carrying Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore, wounding six players and a British coach and killing eight Pakistanis.

Karachi is also set to host the final of the ongoing Pakistan Super League. England's former Test batsman Kevin Pietersen, a big draw in the PSL and who plays for Quetta, has made it clear at a press conference in Dubai that he would not travel to Lahore or Karachi.

Sethi said Reg Dickason, the ICC's security consultant, would visit Karachi during the PSL final to look at the security arrangements for the series.

He noted that after the PSL final in Karachi, the city would also host three T20 Internationals against the West Indies in the first week of next week.

"Their expert will stay back for seven days and conduct the security for West Indies series".

"This is how we intend to bring Karachi back on map of cricket", he added. This is part of our agreement with the West Indies board.

"Good news! West Indies have agreed to play three T20 matches in Karachi on 1st, 2nd and 4th April", wrote the PCB chief on Twitter, adding: "CM Sindh is fully supporting this PCB initiative".

Not only the dates, the venue for the fixtures has been changed as well.
