Nokia 3 finally receives Android Oreo update

Today, nearly two months after the beta program started, Android 8.0 Oreo for Nokia 3 is finally arriving.

Shaun Durandt, HMD Global General Manager, said as the value market leader in feature phones, it understood the barriers and challenges people faced when it came to the step up to a smartphone, hence the firm had through the Nokia 1 made its "most accessible smartphone ever".

It runs the latest Android Oreo (Go edition), a version of Android for devices with 1GB RAM or less.

Among 10 analysts covering Nokia Corp (NYSE:NOK), 3 have Buy rating, 0 Sell and 7 Hold.

The Nokia 3 was launched back in June 2017 and it was shipped with Android 7.0.

If you don't see any update notification on your device, then you can request for manual upgrade by going through Settings About Phone and then tap on Software Update. Nokia 3 is backed by a 2,650 mAh battery, and it supports Micro USB (USB 2.0) for charging. It is the first smartphone from Nokia coming with the 18:9 design and it comes with Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box. Now available via the OTA route, the software update weighs in at 509 MB in terms of size.

HMD Global started publicly testing the Oreo build for the Nokia 3 in late February.
