Obviously the glass back doesn't have a metallic shine when light hits it like the red iPhone 7, but it's a striking, vibrant phone all the same.

Basically the same is happening to the iPhone 8 as well.

The top-end iPhone X won't receive the red paint job, but the tech giant has launched a red leather case (€109) to fit the €1,000 device and several other models.

The Global Fund is an organization dedicated to the eradication of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria as epidemics. Since partnering with (RED) in 2006, Apple has donated more than US$160 million to the Global Fund, serving as the organisation's largest corporate donor.

To recap, the PRODUCT (RED) iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus special editions were introduced as an opportunity for consumers to contribute to efforts that fight the spread of HIV and AIDS. It said that Apple-certified screen repairs must perform which are done by trusted experts who use Apple parts. Unsurprisingly, Apple, as before, seems to have found a way to discourage that practice by disabling touch functionality on iPhone 8 units running the latest iOS 11.3 whose screens have been repaired and replaced by unauthorized third-parties.

According to a new report, the Motherboard company of the iPhone can confirm that the iOS 11.3 is killing the touch screen displays of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus phones which is repaired by the third-parties.

Except for the color, the exterior design and internal hardware remain same in the new iPhone 8 series.

Apple says the special edition iPhone will be available to order from tomorrow and will be in stores from Friday.

Apple surprised everyone with the announcement of a PRODUCT (RED) iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus yesterday. Brazil, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE and other countries and regions will follow later in April, with Chile, Colombia, India, Israel, Turkey and other countries and regions following in May.

Apple has announced the new red color options for its iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

Piper's analysts thinks this sets Apple up well for the fall, when it is expected to release three new iPhones, including one low-priced version with facial recognition and an end-to-end screen, features which now cost $US1,000 or more.

For the second consecutive year, Apple is releasing a Product RED color variant of its iPhone.
