Broncos releasing RB CJ Anderson

By releasing Anderson, the Broncos save $4.5 million in cap space this offseason.

According to Vic Lombardi of Altitude TV, the Broncos have released the veteran running back.

With Anderson out of the picture in Denver, the Broncos could be set to make incoming third-year back Devontae Booker their new workhorse in the backfield.

Denver is releasing Anderson after a career year for the running back.

Anderson played just two seasons of the four-year, $18 million contract he signed in 2016. Like I said, we're looking at every option that we can and where our football team is.

Anderson has some familiarity with the Dolphins system as he worked with head coach Adam Gase when he was the offensive coordinator of the Broncos from 2013-2014. "I'm not saying they'll be back for sure, but I'm not going to say they are gone".

Anderson rushed for 1,007 yards on 245 carries with three touchdowns.

Anderson, 27, ran for 1,007 yards and scored 3 touchdowns for Denver in 2017, averaging 4.1 yards per carry.
