Makeup seized in $700000 raid contained feces

One of the brands being knocked off was Kylie Jenner's Kylie Cosmetics.

Counterfeit makeup is super unsafe because you don't know what ingredients are in the products and they aren't held to any regulations.

The department seized $700,000 worth of bootleg cosmetics on Thursday, after raiding 21 locations in Santee Alley, a Los Angeles fashion district, said LAPD Capt. Marc Reina. The LAPD went undercover and purchased products to test. The bacteria included traces of animal feces and urine. Detective Rick Ishitani said the price tells you if it's counterfeit or not. Those poor customers were putting poop on their faces and body, which is not only gross but is extremely unsafe and unhygienic.

"Those basically somehow get mixed into the product they're manufacturing in their garage or in their bathroom - wherever they're manufacturing this stuff".

I mean, we all like a good deal and cosmetic products are massively expensive, but this is a pretty convincing argument for paying the full price to get the real deal.

The FBI and Central Vice Units helped in the raid, according to local NBC affiliate, arresting six people on charges of trademark violations and issued cease-and-desist orders on 15 businesses.

Following news of the raid, Kylie's sister, Kim Kardashian, tweeted her reaction to the raid, saying "SO GROSS!"

The UK beauty industry is worth £4 billion and it is thought that social media has played a big part in the growth.

There have been reports that some fake lip kits also have glue in them.
