Dexter Girls Lacrosse Routs Tecumseh (With Pictures)

The win brings the Bombers to 9-4 overall with a 6-1 record in the Liberty League Conference.

The Dexter girls' lacrosse team used a big first half to take control of the game and rolled to a 15-4 win over Tecumseh Wednesday, April 11.

Two goals and an assist from Slaminko helped Ridgefield stay even early on with John Jay.

Coach Kat Dennington's Gaelettes got seven goals and three assists off the stick of Megan Kreitler, and four goals and an assist from Danielle Krietler.




Megan Bunker scored three goals, Sarah Mathes chipped in a goal, Cali Schwerdtfeger handed out an assist and Albany Bloor made eight saves for Indian Creek (0-5).

Virginia opened the game with a pair of goals in the opening five minutes, but Blalock's back-to-back goals knotted the game back up. The Griffins picked up 28 ground balls, caused 14 turnovers and completed 18-of-22 clearances compared to Rockhurst, which picked up 47 ground balls, caused 12 turnovers and completed 17-of-23 clearances.

Zoe Hunt and Megan Kreitler each had three ground balls. Sophomore Bailey Grant (Chelmsford, Massachusetts/Chelmsford) posted 11 saves in the Skyhawks goal, adding six ground balls and a caused turnover. Then, at the 3:44 mark, Wagner's leading goal-scorer on the season, senior midfielder Lauren Ednie, blasted home an unassisted score in what would prove to be the game victor.

Westminster plays Lindenwood on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. MDT.
