Rage 2 gameplay trailer out NOW

We've seen leaks and teasers this past week and now it's official: Rage 2 is in the works, Bethesda confirms, and a gameplay teaser will soon become available.

In RAGE 2, you'll dive headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order. You can go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything. The game is being developed by Avalanche Studios, the creators of Mad Max, working with id Software.

This first look is mostly real actors in costume and CGI, but the description states that we'll be seeing a gameplay reveal later today. The game has a very solid pedigree behind it with Avalanche Studios and id Software behind the helm.

What is clear at this point is that the game is now in the works, and the first trailer released on May 14 shows loads of live action, with characters fighting, prancing around, wielding weapons, and indicating a great deal of excitement.

Rage 2 is targeting a Spring 2019 release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. In fact, Avalanche Studios created the engine that was used to make the 2015 Mad Max game.

And yesterday the official Rage Twitter account tweeted: "C:DesktopVideosAnnounceTrailerMonday".

With E3 2018 just around the corner, it will be interesting to see exactly how much gameplay fans will be shown later today. The design of the world was mostly flat and lacked notable landmarks - especially when compared to Just Cause's vertical landscapes - and some of the gameplay loops, particularly dealing with hostile strongholds, grew tiresome.

There has been no official release date announced as of yet. Bethesda has kept quiet about when we should expect Rage 2 to be released, but judging by Bethesda's usual cycle (reveal at/around E3 and release towards the end of the same year), we're fairly confident that Rage 2 will be available by the end of 2018.
