Realme 1 launched with 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM; Costs ₹13990

If you are unaware, Realme is the sub-brand of Oppo and Realme 1 is the first smartphone to launch under this category.

Realme 1 has been launched in India on Tuesday, the first smartphone in the new Oppo brand for the country. The 6GB variant of the smartphone will go on sale at 12pm IST on Amazon on May 25, while the other two variants are expected to be up for retail later this month. The e-commerce platform already has a dedicated page live for the same.

The Realme 1 runs Oppo's ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo along with an Indian theme.

A third variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage, in moonlight silver and diamond black colours for Rs 10,990 will go on sale in June.

The company is selling the device with something called a diamond back which they claim is a strong departure from the bland design language that is prevalent with the competition. It is worth mentioning that Realme 1 has no fingerprint reader at all and it comes with Face Unlock only. With the Realme phone, you can use two SIM cards and a microSD card slot for expandable storage.




The Oppo RealMe 1 will be exclusively available on Amazon for Rs 8,990 for the 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and Rs 13,990 for 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage.

Christened Realme 1, the phone packs in the world's first 12nm AI CPU MediaTek Helio P60 CPU coupled to a 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of ROM. The smartphone carries a 6-inch full-HD+ display panel with 1080x2160 pixels resolution with 84.75 percent of screen-to-body ratio. The company is also packaging a free screen guard and case for the Realme 1. Instead, it relies on AI-assisted Face Unlock for unlocking the phone, which is said to unlock the phone in less than 0.1 seconds. The AI system understands your usage patterns and shuts down background apps in order to minimize the power consumption, thereby resulting into better performance.

Coming to the camera department, the Oppo Realme 1 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash.

The AI Shot included in Realme 1, acts as a personal beauty artist to customize beauty based on your unique facial features so that your photos will "capture the real you". Both the front and rear cameras can seamlessly evoke a professional bokeh effect by shifting the focal point onto the subject of the photograph.
