Cardinals WR Christian Kirk Arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Property Damage

Kirk and some friends were seen throwing rocks at cars outside the golf tournament on February 3.

Former Saguaro High School star and recently-drafted Arizona Cardinal Christian Kirk was arrested while leaving the Waste Management Open for throwing rocks at cars, police said.

On Monday, Scottsdale police said that Kirk and his friends were "intoxicated" and broke the window of at least one auto.

According to Scottsdale Police: "The suspects were intoxicated and leaving the WMPO".

"I further noticed the grinding movement of his jaw and continued blank stare", the arresting officer said, per TMZ. "As they were walking through a parking lot, security personnel observed them throwing rocks at cars and breaking a window of at least one of them".

Azcentral.com quoted a Cardinals spokesman as saying that team officials spoke to Kirk at length about the incident and it is the team's understanding that the matter "will be resolved in the near future".

After the draft, Arizona said it knew about a hazy arrest. "We did our own independent research on it and we felt very good about the information that we received", coach Steve Wilks said. "As I stated before, we want to bring in great character guys, and I think Christian is one of those guys".

Kirk attended the Cardinals' minicamp from May 11-13.

A three-year starter at Texas A&M, Kirk caught 71 passes for 919 yards and 10 touchdowns in his junior year, while also accumulating close to 700 return yards and two more touchdowns as a kick and punt returner, according to his Sports Reference player page.
