Look At What LeBron James Is Doing Hours Before Game 2 Starts

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James (23) drives against the defense of Boston Celtics forward Marcus Morris during the first quarter of Game 1 of the NBA basketball Eastern Conference Finals, Sunday, May 13, 2018, in Boston.

The post Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson say Cleveland's first half defense in Game 1 was soft appeared first on Cavs Nation.

Baynes, the 31-year-old Queenslander, has been using the experience he gleaned from being part of the 2014 San Antonio Spurs' championship-winning team to help guide an injury-ravaged Celtics squad relying on the talented but inexperienced Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier.

"Our confidence level is very high", said Morris, who recorded the first postseason double-double of his career. It blew out Philadelphia by 16 points during the second-round-opener, but Philly responded in Game 2 and almost came away with a bounce-back win.

The Celtics really could have used this version of Morris throughout the playoffs, but they dealt with it earlier. "I'll be able to tell my kids this one day", Morris told reporters including Washburn after the game.

Though James will surely put in a much better performance, it's hard to go past Boston at the -1.0 point line offered by oddsmakers after their 25 point victory in Game 1. Morris excelled in a way even he couldn't have expected in Game 1.

The current group of Boston players, the ones that will attempt to stop the Cavs' run of dominance in the Eastern Conference finals, can largely be traced back to James.

The Cavs are also looking for a better game out of James, after he missed 11 of the 16 shots he attempted Sunday and coughed up seven turnovers.

Boston seized a 63-35 lead early in the second half but the Cavs halved their deficit, Jeff Green's jumper at the 3rd-quarter buzzer pulling Cleveland within 78-64 entering the fourth. Thompson limited Horford to 0 points when on the court at the same time while adding 8 points and 11 rebounds in just 21 minutes of play. "We weighed it before the series started, but we'd won seven out of eight and we weren't going to adjust until someone beat us and we didn't play well with that lineup that got us to this point".

Just as the Cavaliers rapidly rose to contender status with James on the roster, they could become a nonfactor just as quickly if the multi-time league MVP heads to Philadelphia.

But Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he wasn't surprised by James" memory ability, saying that "great players remember everything'. "We came out with a lot of energy". "That's the great challenge of having to play against a team like this and a player like him". The Game 1 defeat was his second-worst in playoff history.

As we saw all throughout the first round, James didn't get much help from his teammates.

He also committed seven turnovers in the 108-83 thumping at TD Garden as the Celtics took a 1-0 lead. "I thought that we weren't as aggressive".

There are some other team-specific reasons why James would be an ideal offseason signing for the upstart 76ers.

"It's a team effort, man, it's not just me", Morris said after the game, as reported by ESPN. "We all have a role to play, and we all need to play that role as well as we can".
