Nokia X6: What we know so far

After weeks of rumors and speculations, HMD Global has finally launched the Nokia X6 in China on Wednesday. It was earlier being speculated that the brand might unveil a new smartphone series called the X-series and that it might introduce the 2018 variant of the classic Nokia X. The smartphone has been spotted in a number of leaks till now and there were a lot of speculations surrounding the same. It is not as premium as the Nokia 8 Sirocco based on the specifications and price and can be placed in the mid-range segment. The bad news is Nokia X6 is a China-exclusive for the moment, but there's hope for those waiting for this specific device to go on sale in other countries since HMD nearly always brought its China-exclusive devices to other markets after a while.

The Nokia X6 is powered by a Snapdragon 636 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage or 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage. The modern 19:9 display has a whopping 95% screen-to-body ratio and is protected under Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

There's also a microSD card slot, which enables users to further expand the phone's storage capacity up to 256GB. You also get a standard fingerprint sensor on the back. There is no information if the smartphone will be coming to India or not.

The Nokia X6 is powered by a 3,060mAh battery and comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. We are still a couple of years away from budget smartphones adopting the USB C port altogether but, this is a great step by HMD Global.

The Nokia X6 has a dual rear camera setup with a primary 16-megapixel sensor and a secondary 5-megapixel monochrome sensor. The 16MP sensor has f2 aperture and 1.0um pixels, while the 5MP lens has f/2.2 aperture, 1.2um pixel size. The dual-camera setup will be able to take portrait shots, a feature that has become very popular recently. At the front there is a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.
