Shenmue 3 For PC And PS4 Delayed To 2019

Shenmue 3, as you might recall, started off as a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign back during E3 2015 and while the prospect of a threequel for Yu Suzuki's beloved series is exciting, there's no denying that Kickstarter projects often leave participants with broken dreams and lighter wallets.

Over the years, Shenmue fans have proven they're nothing if not patient. Maybe this delay will give the developers time to add in 20 extra hours of forklift driving segments. To be honest, if it means a better game at launch, we're all for it.

In a not-all-that-surprising move, Shenmue III publisher Deep Silver has announced that the game will be delayed until an unspecified date sometime in 2019. Fans have been waiting for well over a decade for this game to finally release, and these delays being thrown on top of that aren't making anything easier.

Furthermore, we've seen so little of the game in the three years since its announcement that it would have been absolutely stunning to have expected its release this year.

Shenmue III is now in development for the PS4 and PC.

It looks like the wait for Shenmue 3 will be that much longer... yet again. "We promise to use this time to improve the quality of Shenmue III".

Shenmue III is scheduled for release on PS4 and PC in 2019. "We can not thank you enough for your enduring support". Considering the last game, Shenmue II, released on the original Xbox back in 2001, who could blame them?
