Allan McGregor: Goalkeeper returns to Rangers on two-year deal

ALLAN MCGREGOR can't wait to work with the new management team of Steven Gerrard and Gary McAllister at Rangers.

The 20-year-old hitman is wanted on a loan to lead the Rangers attack next season and it's claimed that informal talks between himself and Reds' boss J├╝rgen Klopp have already taken place to establish if a deal could be worked out.

McGregor, who quit the Ibrox outfit six years in the midst of the club's financial meltdown, said: "When the chance came, it was an absolute no-brainer, so I'm buzzing to be back".

McGregor's capture follows the signing of midfielder Scott Arfield from Burnley and suggests the Liverpool legend has the pulling power to attract players earning good money in England.

"I started training here when I was 12 years old and used to come through the main stand maybe twice a week".

"I want to follow Stevie, yea of course!" an excited Defoe told Sky Sports News with a smile and a glint in his eye. But once there is a wee sniff it could happen, then obviously it's exciting.

'As time goes by, you think it might not happen. The phone will be off the hook in his office but there will be few sympathies for him from the Light Blues faithful, who are desperate to see significant improvements in the senior side after a roller coaster of a campaign.

'Once I knew Rangers were interested, it was the only place'. You need to win games, no matter who you're playing. "If you keep doing that, that's what wins you titles". He has won lots of silverware for this club and has shone at the highest level in Europe'.
