Prince Harry, Meghan Markle reveal bridesmaids, page boys for royal wedding

Kensington Palace did not confirm that Thomas would be missing the wedding, but issued a statement asking for understanding. On the world's top video site, clips related to Markle have reeled in 94 million views since the start of the year, making her the most viewed royal of 2018.

The news of Thomas' surgery comes after the father-of-three told TMZ that he was determined to be there for his daughter after Meghan sent him a heartfelt text.

"I know that I'm not going to marry a prince, although all the princes are too young, but it makes me feel like, as a woman, I can do anything and I can be empowered by Meghan", said seventh grader Amina Brenlini, 13.

Many students said they were inspired by Markle, who has described herself as an activist, humanitarian and feminist. "I'd like to be a part of history".

Kensington Palace could not immediately be reached for comment on Tuesday.

Also in the United Kingdom - though not at the chapel - are members of Markle's extended family. "Ms. Markle is delighted to have her parents by her side on this important and happy occasion".

The BBC says "it is still very much Meghan Markle's wish that her father should be there on Saturday to support her". This is not Great Britain.

Thomas Markle then began speaking to the celebrity news website TMZ announcing he would not be coming to the wedding to save Meghan further embarrassment.

Meghan Markle is estranged from her half-sister, who has not been expected to attend the nuptials, and from her half-brother.

Later in the day, Thomas Markle told TMZ he staged the photos in an effort to rebrand his image and admits the posed pictures look "stupid and hammy". He also claimed to have had a heart attack in the past few days.

Meghan Markle's father will "not be attending" the royal wedding after reportedly admitting that he doesn't want to embarrass his daughter.

The website reported that he said money was not his primary motivation for agreeing to be photographed and he was opting to miss the wedding to avoid embarrassing his daughter and the royal family.

In a procedure scheduled for early on Wednesday night (AEST), doctors "will go in and clear blockage, fix damage and put a stent where it is needed", he told TMZ.

"He was really having heart pains and suffered a heart attack", she said.

The pictures - in which he was being measured for a suit and admiring a photo of the future royal couple on his computer - sold for $100,000 (83,000 euros), according to British tabloid the Daily Mirror.
