Thane Police Summons Arbaaz Khan for IPL betting Case

Now the latest development in the case is that the Thane Police have summoned Arbaaz Khan in connection with the case. The police are believed to be investigating allegations that he placed bets during the recent IPL season through Sonu Jalan.

The summons were issued to Arbaaz after prominent bookie Sonu Jalan alias Sonu Batla - who reportedly has links with various mafia dons, including absconding Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar - was arrested sometime ago and interrogated by the AEC sleuths in connection with the IPL scam, he added.

Sonu's name is reportedly often mentioned in Mumbai's Satta Bazaar and he allegedly has clients in countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, South Africa and Saudi Arabia. "We found the book during a search at his home". During the investigation, it was revealed that Jalan was close to several high-profile people, and Khan was one among them. Arbaaz is the younger brother of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Moreover, Police further noted that they have commenced their investigation into the process.

"Jalan had arranged a match-fixing meeting at Dubai". Jalan, who was arrested for the first time in 2008 for betting during IPL, has also been pictured on various occasions with Arbaaz.

Just a few days ago, the on-going Indian Premiere League came to an end after Chennai Super Kings lifted the trophy for the third time post defeating the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
