NBA Finals Highlights: Kevin Durant, Warriors Beat Cavs In Game 3

Game 4 of the Finals is Friday in Cleveland and if the Warriors win to complete the first sweep in the Finals since 2007, the hecklers should stay away from Durant.

"That was incredible what he did out there tonight", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "And Kevin was the story in the second half, closing it out".

The Cavs kept the game close through most of the fourth quarter.

Smith finally made somewhat of an impact on the game, scoring 13 on 3-of-10 shooting from distance. In a Q. and A. with The Times, Bryant said "I don't understand how, in order to talk about how great LeBron is we need to [expletive] on everybody else".

But with the outcome in the balance, Curry drained two crucial attempts in the closing three minutes - a stumbling layup and an enormous unguarded 3-pointer - as well as a dish to a cutting Draymond Green to polish off the Cavs with 25 seconds left.

Curry's scoop shot put the Warriors up 98-97 and defensive specialist Andre Iguodala, who didn't play in Games 1 or 2 because of a knee injury, came up with a steal under the basket.

Durant had 24 points and 8 rebounds in the first half while the Warriors' other 4 starters made a combined 5-of-20 from the floor for only 13 first-half points and Cleveland enjoyed a 28-16 first-half rebounding edge.

Even a triple-double of 33 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists by LeBron James was not enough for the Cavaliers to get their first win of the series. "But we've got to do a better job on K.D". The effort to spread the ball around was concerted as James logged nine first-half assists.

Everything is more relaxed and familiar at home for James and his teammates, who were counting on a return to their own noisy building, where they play better and shoot better, to get them back into the series. This is a mega super longshot, but what if LeBron could somehow convince Durant that he will never get respect from the legacy-touting pundits winning titles with these Warriors, but must beat them to enter the pantheon with Jordan and himself?

Durant scored 43 points helping Golden State secure a 3 - 0 series lead over Cleveland.

While James' Game 3 outfit was colorful, Warriors guard Stephen Curry took a simple approach, with a denim jacket, white T-shirt and slim jeans. I said that earlier this year. While the Cavaliers are now a long shot to win the Finals, expect James and company to show pride and fight for respect on Friday night.

But Smith claims the Warriors believe James will leave Cleveland. "I was yelling the wrong thing". That's just who I am.
