Domino's is helping fix potholed roads so your pizza stays flawless

The fast food chain has already repaired roads in Burbank, California, Athens, Georgia, Milford, Delaware and Bartonville, Texas.

That's right - Domino's Pizza is in the pothole-patching business, teaming with cities around the country to fill rutted roads with its "Paving for Pizza" promotion.

The pizza chain announced on Monday that it would partner with American towns and cities to fix their potholes, ostensibly to provide a smoother ride home for takeaway pizzas. Domino's Pizza says it can help.

"We know that feeling is heightened when you're bringing home a carryout order from your local Domino's store". Domino's has created an interactive experience showing what happens when the delivery driver goes over a pot hole, and it's as bad as you would imagine. "We don't want to lose any great-tasting pizza to a pothole, ruining a wonderful meal".

"We don't want to lose any great-tasting pizza to a pothole, ruining a wonderful meal", Domino's United States of America president Russell Weiner said in a news release.

To show the damage crummy roads can do to your pie, the website shows in-box footage of pizza getting pretty messed up under a variety of road conditions. It brands the fixed potholes with a Domino's logo and the tagline "Oh yes we did".

The project, called "Paving for Pizza", will allow individuals to nominate their town on a website by ZIP code.

In Milford, Domino's said its crew helped fix 40 potholes on 10 roads in 10 hours. She said Domino's wasn't disclosing how much it was spending on the grants.
